Last Week of 2015 Updates

Hi Families,

Just wanted to send out a few reminders as we get ready to jump into Winter Break

Celebration of Learning is tomorrow at 5:00 in our classroom. Your child will be sharing their story and the story board they’ve created to go along with it. Please try to be here 5-10 minutes early so we can start promptly at 5:00 and not have families walking in after our presentation has started.

Thursday at 8:30 a.m. is the Kinder Holiday Show in the auditorium. A sign with your teacher’s name will be posted on the wall of the auditorium to show you where sit near, to best see our classroom perform Dona Nobis Pacem. All students will get to be on the stage for their individual song, but will be spread out during the last song which we do all together. Please see your child’s blue folder to know WHAT TO WEAR! Here is the flyer in case it got misplaced. Must be frosty clothing I will pass out the buttons on Wednesday! (I don’t have EXTRA so please don’t misplace them or forget to put them on your child Thursday morning)

Report cards will go home this week. Attached to the report cards is the addendum which shows how your child is doing in various areas. Please work on areas in need over the break. Also attached, will be your child’s sight words. It will show you which ones they know and which ones they still need to practice.

Last HW of 2015!

How did that happen? Time flies when you are having fun inĀ  Kindergarten!! Q2 Menu 9

HW Due 12/11

Here is the homework # 8 that is due next Friday! Q2 Menu 8

I have extended the recipe project until next Thursday, December 10th. These recipe books will be quite a bit of work to put together and I will only have a little less than a week to get them together. If it is not in by the 10th, your child will not be part of the recipe book (and that would make us sad)!

Trip to the movies

Thank you to the AMAZING parents of Room 402 who signed up to be a member of Camarena’s PTA! We won a trip to the movies because of the great participation.

When: Friday, December 11th. The movie starts at 10:00 so we will be leaving earlier Camarena earlier.

Where: AMC

What: The Good Dinosaur

Who: All parents (no siblings) are welcome! Parents will need to pay to get into the theater.

How: Using our two little feet to get there, so the more parents, the merrier!

What else: Popcorn will be provided. Students DO NOT need to bring money. Permission slips will be sent home tomorrow and need to be returned to attend. This movie will take place during our normal lunch time. I am going to ask parents to PACK a lunch or just a healthy snack so we can eat it back at Camarena when we return from the movies since we won’t have access to the cafeteria at that time. It is a minimum day so we won’t have much time when we return.

If you are available to come, please comment here or email me at courtney.lesiak@cvesd.org so that I can get a head count! If you have any questions, please ask so that I can clarify for all!

Must Be Frosty

Today your child took home lyrics to a song called, Must Be Frosty (to the tune of, Must Be Santa). That is the song that our classroom will sing at the Holiday Show. There is another song that we will sing with the 5 other Kinder classes. If you want to practice this at home, feel free!

Meet Sprinkles!

We have a new visitor in Room 402. Sprinkes the elf is visiting during December. Every night she reports back to the North Pole to tell Santa how each child did that day! Rumor has it she likes to hide in a new silly place each day. Just like she did today!IMG_9554 IMG_9553
